National Public Lands Day, September 23, 2016

Our 123 volunteers collected more than 330 pounds of trash and recyclables and removed almost 6,000 invasive exotic plants during Saturday’s National Public Lands Day project.

The National Public Lands Day event started with registering and organizing more than 100 volunteers.   After a short demonstration showing how to cut and remove invasive exotic plants from the National and City park areas (Old Fort Park) we got to work!

Many thanks to our local Walmarts for their contribution of a delicious lunch and Stones River Recycling for the recycling bins.
