The Saturday before each Memorial Day, the staff of the Stones River National Battlefield call on the community to place flags on the more than 7,000 graves at the National Cemetery.
The Friends of the Stones River National Battlefield hosted an open house at the Battlefield Visitor Center. Living history participants gave a load and fire drill – great success!
The Friends of the Stones River National Battlefield helped support the more than 200 volunteers at this spring’s National Parks Day. These volunteers worked hard removing privet, trash and the occassional bird nest (don’t worry – the bird nest was treated with great care!)
