The Friends of Stones River National Battlefield serves as both an advocacy and advisory group; and a cooperative partner of the National Park Service and Stones River National Battlefield for the benefit of the public.

Our Mission Statement:

“To Preserve and Promote the Stones River Battlefield, Enhance Recreation, Promote Education and Preserve our Heritage.”

The Friends of Stones River National Battlefield serves as both an advocacy and advisory group; and a cooperative partner of the National Park Service and Stones River National Battlefield for the benefit of the public.

Our Core Values:

• We are aligned with the National Park Service in serving the public.
• We are committed to the past by honoring America’s history and helping preserve significant battlefield landscape features.
• We are committed to the present and the future by supporting education outreach programs for people of all ages.
• We are committed to sponsor commemorative activities for the community and the region.
• We are committed to providing financial support to Stones River National Battlefield.
• We are committed to expand appreciation for the Park beyond its historical significance; to also create an appreciation for its natural resources, scenic beauty, and recreational opportunities.

Vision:

As Friends, we strive to instill in others the passion for the resources and stories of Stones River National Battlefield.  It is a place for reflection and remembrance; a place to define what it is to be an American in the 21st century.  With this in mind, we work diligently to positively promote and protect our park.

The Friends of Stones River National Battlefield is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Tennessee and classified as a 501(c)(3) organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Code.
